The DSASC is pleased to offer bursary programs to its members.
Children's Recreation and Therapy Bursary, Open October 1st, 2023
We invite all members under 21 living with Down syndrome to apply for our bursary to help cover the costs of recreation and therapy programs.
DSASC is proud to be able to offer bursary programs. The total of funding will be divided evenly among all eligible applicants, but capped at $400 per individual. This money is available through the fundraising efforts of the DSASC (Bowlathon, Fun Walk, Ride for Down Syndrome).
*Following the lead of the Provincial SSAH program, we are also reimbursing assistive devices and equipment, which may include things like bikes or tablets. If you are not sure the item you are considering purchasing would qualify, we encourage you to email admin@dsasc.ca.

This bursary was introduced to help families offset the costs of assistance or programs that help foster independence in our young adults.

- Applicants must have their membership current.
- Successful applicants will be notified by email by November 15, 2023.

Summer Camp and Respite Bursary- Closed
We invite all members living with Down syndrome to apply for our bursary to help cover the costs of summer camp and respite opportunities.
DSASC is proud to be able to offer bursary programs. At least $1000 will be divided evenly among all eligible applicants, but capped at $250 per individual. This money is available through funds raised from our annual fundraisers: the Step UP for Down Syndrome Fun Walk, the Bowling Buddies Challenge, and the Ride for Down Syndrome. A special thank-you to 100 Men that Give a Damn, Innisfil, that helped make camp bursaries possible!
Process and Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to:
1) Submit receipts, or if this is not available, submit a bursary expense claim form. Receipts for camp or respite services that take place between July 1st, 2023-August 31, 2023 will be eligible.
2) A note of thanks and if possible, a photo will be required to use for our newsletter and/or fundraising efforts.
3) Bursary monies will then be reimbursed to the parent within 30 days.
NOTE: SUBMISSION OF RECEIPTS MUST BE MADE PRIOR TO September 30, 2023.
