Children’s Recreation & Therapy Bursary: Applications now OPEN.
We invite all DSASC members under the age of 21 who are living with Down syndrome to apply for our Children’s Recreation and Therapy Bursary.
This bursary is designed to help cover the costs of recreation and therapy programs.
This bursary is made possible thanks to the generous fundraising efforts of the DSASC community (Bowlathon, Fun Walk, Ride for Down Syndrome).
Young Adults Independence Bursary: Applications now OPEN.
We also invite all DSASC young adult members with Down syndrome, who have completed school, to apply for our Young Adults Independence Bursary.
This bursary helps offset the costs of supports and programs that foster independence.
This bursary is also funded through DSASC’s major fundraising events.

Requirements for Successful Applicants
We invite all DSASC members under the age of 21 who are living with Down syndrome to apply for our Children’s Recreation and Therapy Bursary.
This bursary is designed to help cover the costs of recreation and therapy programs.
- Funding will be divided evenly among eligible applicants, with a maximum of $400.00 per individual.
- Eligible expenses include recreation and therapy programs as well as assistive devices and equipment (e.g., bikes, tablets) following the guidelines of the Provincial SSAH program.

Application Process
- Complete the application form available on our website below.
- Opens: October 1, 2026
- Deadline: October 30, 2026
- Applicants must hold a current DSASC membership
- Successful applicants will be notified in November
Requirements for Successful Applicants
- Submit receipts (dated October 1, 2026 or later) or a bursary expense claim form if receipts are unavailable
- Provide a letter of thanks and, if possible, a photo for our newsletter and fundraising initiatives
- Bursary funds will be reimbursed to parents within 30 days of submission
- Final deadline for receipt submission: October 30, 2026
